INTRODUCTION:
For those who may not have heard of Star Nayea,
Star likes to open her program with a song for the kids.
That way they get a pretty good Idea of what this lady not only
is capable of, but also that she is serious at what she does.
Its an attention get-ER to say the least.
An original acapela performance or an
original performance to pre recorded music.
Which Star will sing live to.
SHARING:
Star Nayea follows the introduction sharing her life story.
As an infant of two months Star Nayea was illegally taken,
from her Native American Birth family.
Relocated to & raised in Michigan.
Placed into the Lutheran Social Services of Detroit, Michigan.
As an infant of two (2) months of age Star was then placed,
with NO background check into a nonnative family.
Where from the young age of only 12 months old,
Star would begin the survival process, of many years of abuse to come.
Star's story is nothing short of astonishing.
Just the simple fact that Star Nayea is still with us today.
Is nothing short of a miracle.
HEALING THROUGH MUSIC:
During this portion of the program Star Nayea,
digs down deep into the archives of when she first began her love for music.
How & why it healed her.
Yesterday, as well as today...
From the wizard of OZ, Judy Garland sang..."Somewhere over the rainbow,"
A song that would become a constant theme through Star Nayea's life.
A song she uses & performs in the program.
To interpret to the children how it grabbed her, at the young age of five.
And showed her that this life she was in, wasn't right.
Somewhere there was a beautiful place free of all that was harming her.
Star was going to find that place, no matter what.
Unbeknownst to Super group Bon Jovi.
Their music lifted Star up as a teenager showing her,
not only how to survive with her head held high, but also marked the beginnings of where Star's love & talent for song writing would consume her.
Star Shares stories and many songs written at the very tender age of 13.
Where It was very apparent, even back then, this young teenage girl would grow to be a profound story teller and songwriter. Not to mention star's soulful, passionate, beautifully strong voice.
A gift truly given to her from the creator.
As Star always says
"MUSIC SAVED MY LIFE."
HANDS ON:
During this portion of the program Star Nayea draws the word;
H E A L I N G
on a chalk board or easel with paper attached.
Star begins to ask the children to assist her in thinking about music for a moment.
Asking them a series of questions to set up this exercise:
How does music make you feel?
What kind of music inspires you?
What kind of music angers you?
What is it about music that heals us?
Beginning with H all the way to G.
The children begin to list, out loud, words that music allows them to feel, by way of healing
For example: H (These all came from children in Star's program)
1.) Happy
2.) Help
3.) Hope
4.) Hurt
5.) Hatred (to identify it)!
6.) Honor (referring to traditional music)
7.) Humility
8.) Honesty
9.) Harmony
10.) Humor
As the children are forced to use their hearts & minds to
realize the gift music bring to each of their lives.
This portion of the program can take up to thirty minutes alone.
With serious inquiry and attention given to the question at hand.
Writing a song/poem together:
Star Nayea likes to close the program with a project the children will do together as well as a memorable experience they all can share with a look inside of them.
As they embark on writing a poem or song together.
By way of word & piano or just words accompanied by melody from Star.
The children are encouraged to help create a melody & lyrics.
As an end result, a song will give birth from the children.
Who just sat through & participated in the Healing Power of Music.
Everyone sitting in, adults as well, are encouraged to join in,
write it down as a memory, As well as a beginning to the healing process within.
Musical performance:
Star Nayea ends the program depending on time left with an original composition from her large collection of original songs. Accompanied either by musicians, or Star can again sing live to pre recorded music.
Different communities prefer different situations also depending on budget to pay musicians.
Meet & Greet:
If time allows Star will then have a meet & greet with students & or anyone wishing to personally speak with her. Again if time allows for this to take place.
Also personal contact information for Star will be available at request.
As Star Nayea makes herself readily available for any children in need of her assistance.
